Education Centre Design
Planning and building a new education centre can be both an exciting and daunting task. You are normally doing this as a clinician with busy days jobs too so we can help at every stage. From working with architects, creating business cases to project managing the build. We will make sure sure that the building is fit for purpose for todays technology and future proof it for what’s still to come. We can create VR plans so that you can walk through your new centre before a shovel even goes in the ground.
Extended Reality Lab (ERL)
The Extended Reality Lab is the worlds first fully connected fully immersive medical teaching facility. It not only provides an immersive experience for staff but it also connects with other ERLs through the XRNET network to provide a fully remote collaborative experience. For the first time teams can simulate in realtime with colleagues locally, nationally and internationally. Mass incident training can be supported across trusts whilst new international clinicians can be included in simulations before they arrive in the UK.
The ERL can be programmed from a national library of hospital environments turning traditional simulation from a ward based static room to a journey through a realtime hospital. From Helicopter to CT scanner the facility can provide a fully immersive experience for your trainees.
The room delivers full motion capture, eye tracking and supports spacial mapping to integrate HoloLens and other Mixed reality headsets to further augment the trainees experience.
XRNET
XRNET is the backbone for the connected Simulation Network. Standalone it its a high speed 10Gb/sec Internet connection to the public cloud giving unrivalled connectivity for your trainees and delegates using your facilities. It uses the latest Wifi 6 and 6Ghz technology to allow seamless VR and AR headset connection throughout your building as well as a private cloud to host applications, data and audio visual recordings.
Within your education building the high speed cabled architecture gives to the ability to stream high fidelity contents from room to room or Simulation space to lecture hall. Opening up the ability to host remote trainer/trainee events and connecting with international trainees in a way that brings teams together faster and more effectively XRNET is a critical building block in any future education centre.
Connected to the ever growing national XRNET network it brings connectivity to a global scale allowing trusts to take full advantage of the wider Connected Simulation Network (CSN) and collaboration with other trusts and medical facilities locally, nationally and internationally.
Imaging Academies
We are the only company to design and deliver a connected solution for imaging academies. Using a revolutionary eye tracking PACS machine (EPACS) we can help radiology and other image based specialities to deliver more effective training and reduce the teaching required to fully develop these specialities.
EPACS allows a remote trainer to see in realtime using the XRNET network exactly what the trainee is looking at during a typical scan analysis. This data can not only be vital in helping understand how a trainee is developing their process but vital in understanding and honing effective teaching techniques.
Together these technologies are helping reduce travel, trainee time and trainer resource.
Room Streaming Solutions
We offer solutions for streaming all manner of content within your education facility. The touch screen interactive white board displays can give a common interface for people using the rooms and can be integrated with your chosen Teams or Zoom or SRT solution if required. The Video Wall solutions can give a real presence in any reception area to focus visitors on the areas of interest you want them to see. XRNET fully supports these room installs and is configured to support direct streaming of content from the ERL, Imaging Academies or other third party sources using low latency Network video distribution. During COVID these solutions were used extensively to present to a distributed audience and that requirement is only set to grow as we embrace remote teaching and distributed faculty. Note that this solution will allow you to directly stream to any XRNET enabled room or building both locally and nationally and indirectly to the public cloud.
